Ms. Teresa Oscher
Ms. Teresa is the Owner/Director of the Brandon and Bay-Area School of Dance Arts. Teresa is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance Performance. Shortly after graduation, Teresa served as an Adjunct Professor of Dance at USF. She is a former Miss Tampa and the recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Award from the College of the Arts. Ms. Teresa has been a judge for several national dance competitions and pageants.
Ms. Tiffany Oscher
Ms. Tiffany is the Co-Owner of the Brandon and Bay-Area School of Dance Arts. She joined our faculty in 2008 and is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and a minor in Dance and Business. Tiffany's recent choreography has been awarded National Championships in 2016 - 2018. Recently Ms. Tiffany's choreography was selected as a nominee for the Industry Dance Awards finalist. Tiffany has been awarded "Best Choreographer" in the 2018 Best of the Bay.
Ms. Nicole Boggs
Ms. Nicole Boggs is the Business Manager of the Brandon and Bay-Area School of Dance Arts. After dancing at BSDA for 16 years, she went on to graduate from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Nicole spent three years working at a large law firm in Alabama, but is delighted to return back to her home at BSDA to manage the family business.
Ms. Tara Lacatena
Ms. Tara has been part of the BSDA family for over 12 years. Currently Ms. Tara is the director of junior competition teams at BSDA. She has over 25 years teaching experience as both an instructor and choreographer. She has studied under Ann Reinking, Charles Kelly, Madame Elvira Frank, Giselle Renee Ginefra, and many others. Her choreography has consistenly won top awards in both regional and nation competitions.
Ms. Mandy Arroyo
Ms. Mandy began her career in the Tampa Bay Area and is a graduate of Blake High School. After graduation she attended USF where she obtained a degree in Secondary Education. She has won countless awards for choreography and has been recognized for her innovative works. Her dances continue to win awards and are selected for numerous awards at both the regional and national levels. Ms. Mandy is also an instructor at the magnet school for the arts in Hillsborough County.
Ms. Mandy Beamer
Ms. Mandy has 24 years of teaching experience. She studied under such greats as Henry LeTang, Savion Glover, Jamie Salmon, and Gayle Tutterow. She has studied dance at USF and has received numerous awards of distinction for performance and choreography during her dance career.
Ms. Abby Stevanus
Ms. Abby is a graduate of the University of the Arts with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. She is proficient in all forms of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, African, partnering, hip-hop, contemporary and lyrical. Her professional experience includes dancing for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Universal Studios, and Busch Gardens Tampa.
Ms. Karen Siebert
Ms. Karen's lifelong love of dance began in Miami at the age of 6 under the direction of Award Winning teacher Virginia Farris. She is trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and acrobatics. She has performed in the numerous television shows and parades. She studied dance at the University of South Florida expanding her knowledge in techniques and vocabulary and performed in many workshops and concerts.
Ms. Christy Scimeca
Ms. Christy Scimeca grew up dancing in Chicago and trained at many local studios and competed with Excel Dance Productions for 8 years. Ms. Christy went to the University of Iowa where she received a Bachelors of Arts in Dance, Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training where she taught and choreographed at the Nolte Academy of Dance for 8 years and was the Head Dance Team Coach of the Nationally ranked Iowa City West Dance team. Ms. Christy is now dancing professionally as an NFL Cheerleader.
Ms. Jennifer Pena
Ms. Jenny has been a part of the BSDA Family most of her life. She trained at BSDA from the age of 3 in all forms of dance and has been a faculty member since 2003. Ms. Jenny is a graduate of USF with a degree in Health Science with a minor in Dance. She is a former cheerleading coach and has earned numerous awards as a choreographer for BSDA performance teams.
Ms. Tammy White
Ms. Tammy began studying dance at age 3 with Jackie Loto and began teaching young children at the age of 18. Tammy is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a BS in Computer Engineering. She has performed at Walt Disney World as part of the 4th of July Celebrations and has been performed at Super Bowl XXV as a half-time show dancer.
Ms. Lauren Fox
Ms. Lauren has danced at BSDA for 15 years. During her time at BSDA Lauren was a member of our performance team Encore! She has studied all forms of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical, contemporary and musical theatre. Ms. Lauren has been an instructor at BSDA for the past 4 years. Lauren is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in Business.
Ms. Lisa Acebo
Lisa Acebo, lifelong Tampa resident began her training at the age of 3 with Jackie Loto. After 25 years at Jackie's, she became the Artistic Director and main instructor of Rising Starz Dance Academy for 19 years. Ms. Lisa has worked professionally throughout the Tampa Bay Area.
Ms. Jessica Williamson
Jessica spent time as a professional ballet dancer in Las Vegas, where she also collaborated and performed with the world renowned Cirque du Soleil. Jessica has trained with 6 professional companies across the country including the well known Joffrey Ballet in New York and Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle. She trained under Richard Sias, Janet Pichard, Joyce Straub Fausone and Balanchine's muse, Suzanne Farrell.
Ms. Jennifer Berrojo
Ms. Jennifer began her love for dance at and early age dancing with a Mexican folkloric group. She later studied classical ballet under Suzanne Pomerantzeff and Lester Jacobs, at the Chicago City Ballet under Melissa Hayden and America's prima ballerina Maria Tallchief. She was awarded a scholarship at Alvin Ailey Dance Center in New York. For the past 22 years she has been performing at the Columbia Resturant in Tampa.
Mr. Greg Goss
Mr. Greg is a returning alumni of BSDA. He began his dance training at the age of 10 with the local community theatre. Greg began his training here at BSDA in his desire for more serious training. Greg was part of our award-winning competition team where he excelled at ballet, jazz, musical theatre, and acrobatics. His professional credits include performing at Busch Gardens and Tampa Modern Dance Company.
Ms. Stefanie Asche
Ms. Stefanie comes to BSDA after teaching several years in south Florida. She has worked with performance and competition teams. She is trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, and acrobatics. She has performed with the Contemporary Dance Company of Boca Raton and has been a guest instructor and choreographer for Palm Beach College.
Ms. Hayley Hillman
Ms. Hayley Hillman is a BSDA alumni. During her 16 years of dance Hayley was a member of our award winning competition team Encore! for 15 years where she excelled in Musical theater, Ballet, Contemporary/Lyrical, Jazz and Acrobatics. Hayley was a member of Tampa Modern Dance Company and SkyArts Entertainment and is currently a performer at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando where she is in multiple shows.
Ms. Eden Ellis
Eden Ellis is a BSDA alumni who started her dance career at the age of 4. During her 14 years of dance, Eden was a member of our competition team Encore! where she was the winner of many titles, overall awards, and many scholarships. Eden was a member of the Tampa Modern Dance Company for the past year. Eden spent two summers in NYC at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Eden is currently attending HCC where she is majoring in Communications.
Ms. Caitline Dean Giles
Ms. Caitline Dean is a BSDA Alumni. She has studied dance for over 14 years in the Tampa Bay Area. As as member of our competition team, Ms. Caitline received many awards including scholarships and overall awards. In 2015-16 season, Cailtine was an Apprentice at BSDA and is currently working as a hair stylist in the area.
Ms. Shawnessey Holton
Shawnee started her training at 6 years old at a recreational institute, but quickly moved to BSDA where she danced for 11 years, and danced competitively as a member of Encore. After graduating high school she moved to New York to attend Joffrey Ballet School to focus on Ballet studies. She performed many different pieces while in New York, ranging from core to soloist. Shawnee is currently attending USF working towards two degrees in Philosophy and Art History.
Ms. Paige Zulkoski
Ms. Paige Zulkoski is a BSDA Alumni and danced at BSDA for 15 years. Paige has been on the National Champion BSDA Competition Teams for 13 years and has been assisting with classes for years. Paige is so excited to join this team of teachers this year!
Ms. Kierstin Casey
Ms. Kierstin is a BSDA alumni and graduate of Florida State University where she was a 3-year member of the nationally ranked "Golden Girls" and served as team captain. Kierstin choreographed many of the team's routines. Kierstin was a Universal Dance Association as a teacher and competition judge. Kierstin is also a featured dancer at Walt Disney World. We love having Kierstin part of our BSDA Faculty!
Ms. Melissa Faith
Dr. Faith (Ms. Melissa) is a clinical child and adolescent psychologist and also has over 20 years of dance teaching experience. She trained with many former ballet greats, including Russell Sultzbach, Catherine Alexandra, Eliza Harwood-Watson, and the staff of Atlanta Ballet. She grew up competing heavily in all styles of dance, however, her passion for ballet and her time spent as an Aspirant for Atlanta Ballet make ballet training her home base.
Ms. Abigail Kim
Abigail Kim is a BSDA alum who started dancing at the age of two. In her 8 years at BSDA Abigail was a member of our competition team Encore! and received overall awards. She is a graduate of Plant High School where she was a 4 year member of Danceros and now attends Florida State University where she is a member of the Golden Girls Dance Team. Abigail was also apart of VYB Hip Hop company and attended Joffrey Ballet School Summer intensives.
Ms. Erica Raver
With dance training from the Georgia Ballet School, Fiona Fairrie Ballet Conservatory and the Texas Ballet Theatre, Erica has had starring roles in more than a dozen performances including The Nutcracker, Polska, iDream, Beauty and the Beast, Peter and the Wolf, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and more. She danced professionally with the Texas Ballet Theater and Rochester City Ballet. Erica has received numerous awards including first place at YAGP.
